Golf Vacations
Golf Vacation Destinations
The desinations for golf vacations are numerous; especially depending upon your geographic location and willingness to travel. A golf vacation can be a great get away for a group of golfers or for families; let the non-golfers relax and shop by day while the golfers golf and you can all meat up at night for dinner and drinks. A golf-focused vacation can be fun for everyone or just fun for you.One obvious option is to go all out and take and take a trip to a popular destination or famous destination. Such options would include: Pebble Beach in California, TPC Sawgrass in Florida, Pinehurst in North Carolina, Augusta National in Georgia, one of many courses in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, one of many courses in Scottsdale Arizona, their are some beautiful golf courses and scenery outside of Denver Colorado in Englewood (and you can hit the ball further in the thin air), or for the ultimate golf trip think Scotland.
However, even with all of these fantastic options you can always look closer to home for a great golf get away. Most states in the US have multiple cities which offer a number of quality golf courses. A small group of us recently took a short golf trip to Osage Beach, Missouri for a weekend of golf with friends. It was a short two hour drive to the resort we chose in Osage Beach. Over the course of the three day weekend we played three rounds of golf at three beautiful courses and really expereinced a wonderful time by everyone. If you are a golfer, I would greatly recommend looking into a golf vacation.
The Masters Tournament in August, Georgia is a golfer's paradise and should be considered as an experience not be missed. There are many Master's travel packages available. Do not delay booking your Master's Golf vacation as accommodations and Master's tickets are limited. If you can't get tickets to the Master's tournament Thursday through Sunday, consider at least the Master's practice rounds. This is a great way to get up close to your favorite players in a relaxed golf atmosphere.
The top ten reated golf courses as rated by Golf Digest include:
